CNC Waterjet Operator

Position Summary

Ultimate Staffing Services is partnering with a manufacturing client in Oceanside, CA to identify a skilled CNC Waterjet Operator. This role supports daily production by operating, setting up, and maintaining waterjet cutting equipment used to produce high-precision components. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CNC-controlled waterjet cutting machines
• Perform cutting, shaping, and profiling of various materials based on job specifications
• Review work orders, blueprints, and CAD files to determine cutting requirements
• Program and adjust cutting paths and machine parameters using CNC controls and software
• Set up and load materials using overhead lifting equipment or manual methods, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping
• Monitor cutting operations and adjust speed, pressure, and abrasive flow as required
• Inspect cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive delivery systems; perform routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Maintain inventory of spare parts to minimize production downtime
• Measure and inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to confirm specifications are met
• Troubleshoot basic machine and process issues; escalate complex problems to supervision
• Assist with general shop labor including material handling, organization, and housekeeping
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety procedures
• Support production schedules and meet assigned deadlines
• Work closely with Engineers and the Production Manager to ensure job accuracy and identify process improvements

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs
• Ability to stand and work on the shop floor for extended periods
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
